Winwap Technologies, specialists on browser and messaging software for wireless embedded platforms, announce Email and MMS messaging software designed for integration with Digital Picture Frame products. As DPF products have networking capabilities over Wi-Fi and 3G networks it allows them to include Multimedia messaging and Email functionality in addition to just showing the multimedia on screen. Winwap Technologies is already working with DPF manufacturers for integrating the functionality into DPF devices expected to come to market in the near future. The benefit of embedding MMS technology into DPF products, include the capability to receive pictures from a mobile phone device directly on the DPF using MMS Messaging. Or having your children or grandchildren send pictures of themselves automatically to your picture frame at home. With email technology on a DPF it means that the DPF could show email notifications on screen to let users know they have new email, and let the users browse through the inbox of their email on the DPF, and why not reply to emails and write new emails too if the DPF is of such type that the User Interface includes a keyboard for typing information. The DPF could also automatically save images to be displayed when received over email, or send pictures from the DPF using email. The potential applications that can be created are many and each DPF manufacturer can add value to their products with very little effort through these MMS and Email software products from Winwap. The Winwap provided Software Development Kits (SDK) for Email and MMS have a powerful Application Programming Interface (API) that allows the DPF developer to integrate the Email and MMS functionality into their products without having to develop any of the actual Email or MMS software. Further, Winwap provides integration support and customization of the software for customers to make sure the adding of MMS and Email is as simple as possible. These SDK products are intended for the developers of DPF products, and typically require some customization or porting depending on the actual capabilities of the platform used.
